My Yoga Journey
My name is Sabina Dye & my own Yoga journey stared in 2008, when I found myself with a lot of free time on my hands due to an unexpected redundancy in the middle of the financial crisis, but as they say ‘Every cloud...’ I found a great gym next door to our apartment block & I was trying out all the classes that were on offer. One of them happened to be a Yoga class, which really got me hooked!
Since then I was doing Yoga regularly & when we moved from London to Wendover I was very happy to find Sarah’s Yoga class, which I was happily attending every week! Sarah inspired me to become a Yoga Teacher.
The first Yoga course I took was Kidding Around Yoga for Kids, where I had so much fun with my fellow Yogis, most of whom were teachers, who came to learn how they can help kids to relax, to move & to have fun! We all had more fun at the course than all of us could remember! We went back to our bodies - we danced, we did yoga poses to fun songs, we meditated, we were mindful, we learned Pranayama (breathing techniques) & we went to Our Own Secret Gardens when we were relaxing after a great workout that was more fun than work!!!
That course made me realise that I finally found what I would love doing for the rest of my life - it’s Yoga for All - kids & adults! We all need what Yoga can offer! Later on, when I started doing my Level 3 Yoga Teacher Course, I found how remarkably deep, powerful & ancient the Philosophy & Technology of Yoga is! It blew my mind yet again, it’s as if I am discovering new levels of this amazing Science of Human Body, Mind, Spirit, Breath & much more besides!
I am always learning new things about Yoga, taking new training courses and read a lot about new and old ways of practicing Yoga. My recent course happened in May 2018, when I met one of the Kundalini Yoga Gurus - Maya Fiennes! She has been my inspiration since I read her book Yoga for Real Life, where she is sharing tips and tricks on Kundalini Kriyas, Breathing Techniques, Tasty & Healthy Recipes for good health and harmonious wellbeing. I was thrilled to learn from her a new dance technique called KundaDance, which comes with the music intentionally composed by Maya Fiennes, written in 528 and 432 frequencies. These healing frequencies have a powerful effect on the body, mind & spirit. This intentionally designed composition has the ability to unlock your full potential & reveal the true essence of your being. It is highly addictive, enjoyable & will make you feel great! At this point in our human history, it feels like we are rediscovering Yoga again to help us Human BEings to remember who we are & how to BE in our bodies, how to honour them, how amazing we are & how much we can do if we look after our ‘Selves’ & if we connect with the Self within us - how much wisdom, calm & space is hidden inside each of us. I invite you to rediscover Yourself through Yoga!
